Hinds-Utica seeking PR coordinator

Duties include:
•Work with the Vice President-Utica Campus, Dean of Student Affairs-Utica Campus and Utica Campus recruiter to promote a positive image for increasing student enrollment.
•Attend college and Utica Campus functions and events as a member of the Public Relations team with the goal of covering the events, which may include writing news stories, taking photographs, assisting other college photographers by gathering information, doing video and/or social media; events include, but are not limited to, Spring graduation, Founder’s Week and Sports Hall of Fame.
•Photograph events as needed or coordinate sports and event photography for the Utica Campus through the district Public Relations office.
•Write news releases and public service announcements about the Utica Campus and others as directed; provide an electronic copy of these news releases to the district Public Relations office on a weekly basis.
•Submit Utica Campus items or articles for the web calendar, web news, Public Relations news release file, President’s Report, as well as any other venues, on an as-needed or requested basis.
•Submit at least one article a month to On Campus employee newsletter.
•Produce the Maroon and Gold Flash Utica Campus newsletter at least quarterly, including writing, editing, coordinating photography, overseeing production and distributing to employees, students and alumni.

Bachelor’s degree with three years experience in journalism, public relations, communications or related work. Experience in news and feature writing and mastery of AP Stylebook. Some basic working knowledge of digital photography and social media channels.

Technical Director, Part Time, WTOK-TV

WTOK-TV is accepting applications for the position of Technical Director – Part Time. This position will be responsible for Directing and Technical Directing newscasts and other programs as assigned. WTOK is the dominant station in the Meridian, MS DMA and produces over 3 hours of live local high definition newscast per day.

Experience with Ross Synergy HD switcher, VizRT Graphics, and Avid INews helpful, but not required. In addition to directing newscast, the position is also responsible for ingesting commercials, programs and promos into the station program playback servers, plus other duties as assigned.

Successful candidates should be familiar with live newscast production in a commercial television station and able to direct a fast paced newscast while providing direction to the supporting staff. Candidate must be able to work nights, early mornings or weekends as assigned. Previous experience in directing live programming is preferred.
