Job Overview:

WLBT and Mississippi News Now, the top ranked network affiliate in Jackson, Mississippi is looking for a full-time Digital Content Producer to embrace its growing digital efforts and publish content to its website, mobile apps, and social media networks.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, producing, editing, and maintaining digital content while providing guidance to other newsroom staff on issues related to digital content. Responsibilities also include creating photo galleries, interactive data maps, infographics, editing and clipping video for online use, as well as any additional duties that are assigned.

The successful candidates will have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, journalism background with knowledge of the AP style, graphics skills, and a solid grasp of basic computer skills.

News writing, HTML, and Photoshop experience are preferred but not required.

Must be a motivated team player willing to work flexible hours, and must be able to meet deadlines.

News Producer, KTBS 3, Shreveport, La.

We are looking for an experienced, energetic, and self-starting News Producer. If you like to produce fast-paced, creative newscasts and enjoy working in a team environment, this is the job for you.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
– produce, write and coordinate coverage for newscasts
– provide editorial guidance to reporters
– oversee production of the scripts
– oversee on-air production of newscasts, make changes as necessary and ensure that all items are complete
– coordinate incoming satellite feeds from the network and other sources

Requirements include:
– two years news producing experience preferred
– superior writing and computer skills
– team leadership and great news judgment
– must be organized and have the ability to work under time pressure deadlines
– ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events
– ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
– clear driving record and satisfactory pre-employment drug test

The Public Relations & Content Manager is responsible for overseeing and implementing communication plans and tactics on behalf of The Focus Group (as an agency) and its clients. This includes high-level strategy development (research, media relations, crisis communications, social media, etc.) and tactical implementation (press releases, media advisories, blog writing, website content writing, etc.).

The Picayune Item seeks a general assignment reporter and photographer who can also help design and paginate pages. The successful applicant will cover a variety of topics, have some regular beats and learn on the job. Duties include government reporting, feature writing, spot news and basic photography as well as occasional sports reporting.
